What is Neet Exam?
The National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), formerly known as the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT), is the entrance exam for MBBS and BDS programs in Indian medical and dental schools. The National Testing Agency is in control of it (NTA).
The Central Board of Secondary Education, an independent, autonomous, and self-sustaining premier testing agency, previously conducted the test (CBSE). The exam, which grants 90,000 places in India’s MBBS and BDS colleges, is held every year in May.
A candidate who wishes to study medicine must have taken Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology as compulsory courses in Grades 10 and 12 and must have passed these subjects. During the counseling phase, the candidate must produce their passing certificate. The NEET-undergraduate test does not take into consideration mathematics scores (NEET-UG).
In addition to undergraduate courses, NTA runs NEET post-graduation (NEET-PG), an eligibility-cum-ranking test mandated as the single entrance examination for admission to numerous MD/MS and PG diploma degrees.
The NEET test is given in 11 different languages: English, Hindi, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Marathi, Urdu Bengali, Telugu, Kannada, and Assamese. The test lasts three hours and requires the candidate to answer 180 questions. The test consists of three sections: physics, chemistry, and biology (Botany and Zoology).
NTA announces the counseling procedure as soon as the NEET results are revealed. The schedule for NEET counseling is posted on the website of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
