Microsoft Office is not software, it is a package of software it includes multiple software like Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and many more. Microsoft Access is also one of the important products of Microsoft Corporation. Microsoft is a database management system.
This software is useful in making, managing, and maintaining the database. There are several types of database software available in the market. FDBMS (Federal Database Management System) MS Excel, Calc, FileMaker, Borland Reflex, and RDBMS (Relational Database Management System) Oracle, MYSQL, SQL Server, and MS Access. Microsoft Access is a proprietary database management system. It is also compatible with other database software programs because it supports open database connectivity. Due to this other programs like MY SQL, FOX PRO, and Oracle Database can receive and share the data with Microsoft Access.
The best part of Microsoft Access is a person who doesn’t know programming can also use Microsoft Access as it supports the GUI (Graphical User Interface). GUI increases the productivity and usability of this software.
An example of database management is not better than a database of a school. If we need to know about a student in the school where thousands of students studying. It will be very tuff to find it. One must know the class of the student and the section of the student’s class. But if we are keeping the database of all students in computerized form. We can check all the details of the desired student.
With the help of Microsoft Access, you can store the data of an organization or an MNC. You can create your search too and advance search options to search the data. This software is also useful in creating reports based on the database. This software also provides the security option of protecting the files by applying passwords to the data. It saves time and labour to store the data.
For beginners, this software provides basic templates to create the database. As further a beginner will gain knowledge, he can change the setting for the database.
This software is useful for telecommunication companies, Webservers, Social Networking companies, schools, educational institutions, etc. The extension of the MS Access file is .mdb. MS Access works on four focused areas like Tables, Forms, Query, and reports.
